Final Images editing decisions for Spirit Heads...

I knew that I wanted something different for these shoots.  When looking at Native Americans they are heavily influenced by the moon.  I decided that I wanted the heads to almost glow like a blue moon.  The original idea was to invert the images and colourize them with a blue tone...

I tried to do this on my images but it just didn't work it completely distorted the hair; you couldn't see any of the detail at all, especially on Lauren's darker hair. I thought the best thing to do would be seeking advice from John Whalvin our technical expert.  We played around together so I could see and finalise any decisions.  This is what I came up with and used in my book...

I was happy with my decisions, I sought approval from Jennifer and Sharon my teachers.  They liked what I had done but said I needed to make improvements in areas of my editing. I changed things slightly to make the eyes more symmetrical in both photos.  I also enhanced the lighting around the hair so you could see my style more clearly.
